Whenever I'm going to the island from Ikorodu, I don't bother myself to use the public transport or just go by road. Because I want to cut out on the stress and the long distance, I just go straight to the ferry. So there are about, I think there are three ferry stations in Ikorodu, one at Ebute, one at Ibeshe and the other one is at Bayeku. So if you're going to Ajah, you can use the one at Bayeku, which is the one I'm currently at. If you're going to CMS, VI, Lekki, you can use the one at Ebute or the one at Ibeshe route. So the ferry fare used to be around 2,000 naira, I think 1,800, 2,000 naira or even lesser as at two years ago, but currently it's at 2,500. So I paid a total of 5,000 naira going and then returning back to Ikorodu. I started using this means of transportation in 2023 when I was working on the island and it was just so stress-free, although it is risky because I don't even know how to swim. If I was to go by road to Ajah from Ikorodu, I would have spent nothing less than two hours or even more than two hours on the road plus traffic, so many stops on the road. But when I used this ferry to Ajah, I spent just 10 to 15 minutes, which is super amazing. One of the things I dread the most whenever I use this means of transportation is that the boat will always stop midway. I don't know what is wrong with their engines, like it will always stop midway because when I was returning from this trip, that thing happened again. At this point, it's safe to say that I am already used to it because it happens almost every time. And the only thing is that I'm just scared because I really do not know how to swim should anything happen. The good thing about this particular ferry station is that once you get to Ajah Badore road, or is it Addo road, you can easily get a keke or any means of other transportation you want to use because the express road is so visible. I just remembered that there's another ferry station at that Majedun road, Majedun Ogolonto road. I've used it about, I think three times, but it didn't take me directly to where I wanted to so since then I stopped using that ferry station. I'm only more focused on Ebute, Ibeshe and Bayeku. So my Ikorodu people tell me, how do you transport yourself to the island? Do you use, do you go by road, do you use BRT, Uber, public transport, or you just use this my style ferry? Just let me know in the comment, I will be reading.
