I wanted to be honest with you about why things have been a little quieter around here lately. For years I’ve been able to go out buying and come home with enough jewellery for a big new collection almost every week. Recently, that’s become much, much harder. The price of gold has risen enormously, antique jewellery is more expensive to buy and perhaps most frustratingly, the really unusual things seem to be getting harder to find. I could buy more. There’s plenty of jewellery out there. But I don’t want to fill Forage & Find with things I kind of like just so I can say I have a new collection every week. I’ve always wanted this page to feel like a collection of things I genuinely couldn’t leave behind, and I’d rather show you 5 incredible pieces than 25 things that don’t make me feel anything. So there might be a bit less volume of jewellery appearing here for a while. There might be smaller drops, individual finds and a few more exceptionally special pieces when I can get my hands on them. I’m also going to try to show you a little more of what happens behind the scenes, the things I look at, the things I leave behind, and what actually goes into finding the pieces that eventually make it onto here. Basically: I haven’t disappeared. I’m just being fussy. And I hope Forage & Find will be better for it 👀 #jewelrytok #antiquejewelry #vintagejewelry
