If I asked you how many red cars have you seen today, would you be able to tell me? Of course not, and I wouldn't even expect you to know. But what if I told you I'll give you $100 for every single red car that you see tomorrow? Well, then I'm pretty sure you'd probably start noticing them everywhere. And it's not because there are more red cars tomorrow than there was today, they're always there. It's just that you weren't looking. This is what's known as the red car theory. It says that whatever you focus on, you'll see more of. If you focus on the problems, you'll start seeing more problems. If you call yourself unlucky, then guess what? You'll be unlucky. If you call yourself lazy, you'll be lazy. If you decide that you're not good enough, you won't be good enough. But in the exact same way, it works with the good things too. If you focus on winning, luck, and opportunity, you'll start noticing different paths that you swore there was nothing but walls there. Nothing has changed. You just changed what you're looking for. Your reality is whatever you make of it. So be careful what you think about, because your brain will always prove you right.
