Two years ago, I started dancing because I hated my body. At the time, I just wanted to lose weight and become healthier. But somewhere between the practices, sore muscles, mistakes and moments when I wanted to give up, something deeper began to change. I stopped seeing my body only for how it looked and started appreciating everything it could do. It could learn. It could grow. It could express joy. It could step onto a competition stage and eventually, become a Polynesian performer. 🥹 I may have started dancing because I wanted to change my body, but dance changed the way I saw myself. Now I move because it makes me feel strong, joyful, confident and alive. I’m so grateful God led me to something that would become such a meaningful part of my story. 🤍 What has helped you see your body differently? Tell me below. And if you’re learning to stop waiting for a different body before you start living, follow me. I share body confidence, joyful movement, dance, faith and every imperfect step in between and I would love for you to be part of this community. 🤍 #bodypositivity #dance #oritahiti #weightloss #healing
