Do your plaster figurines leave white marks? 👀 Plaster figurines can get chalky and leave marks — that’s just one of the quirks of this type of craft, just like the fact that they’re fragile and can break if dropped. If your figurines are leaving a lot of residue, almost like a piece of chalk, your proportions are most likely off and there’s too much water in the mix. There are additives you can use, such as PVA glue, for example. PVA can help make the figurines stronger and reduce how much they leave marks, but working with PVA has its own nuances. I’ve also seen some makers coat the back of fully dried figurines with PVA mixed with water and then let them dry again. I haven’t personally tried this method. Experiment and see what works best for you 🌸
