Neil Druckmann has confirmed that neither he nor Naughty Dog had any creative involvement in The Last of Us Season 3. Speaking to the Washington Post, Druckmann said: "I wasn't involved in shaping this season's creative direction, and Naughty Dog did not have a creative role in the direction of this season." It marks a significant break from Seasons 1 and 2, where Druckmann co-wrote episodes and directed two installments, a level of hands-on involvement widely credited with keeping the adaptation faithful to the games. Season 3, which wraps up the story of The Last of Us Part 2, will be handled entirely by sole showrunner Craig Mazin. The news comes as Season 2's viewership reportedly dropped 55% compared to Season 1, with some fans pushing back against creative changes from the source material.
