Why it worked

The video likely performed well due to its relatable "extreme couponing" and "extreme cheapskate" theme, offering practical tips for saving money on everyday items like toothpaste and groceries. The strategy of leveraging pharmacy credits for grocery purchases is a clever hack that appeals to viewers looking for unconventional ways to save money.

Summary

The video follows a person shopping for Crest toothpaste, utilizing a rain check and coupons to get a significant discount. They then discuss a strategy for obtaining free produce and meat by transferring prescriptions to a pharmacy for a $25 credit, which they then use towards groceries. The video concludes with the shopper at the checkout, needing to split transactions due to register memory limitations.

Product placement

Crest (toothpaste): ACTS - used to brush teeth, visible result is clean teeth. Removing it would change the video's focus on saving money on toothpaste. This is promotional because the video demonstrates its use and the savings associated with it. The specific product is Crest toothpaste, and the video shows the boxes and discusses purchasing them.
