PS5 emulation has taken a significant leap forward. The KytyPS5 emulator has become the first to run Demon's Souls Remake on PC all the way into actual gameplay, passing the character creation screen and loading into a level for the first time. A nearly 12-minute video posted by blogger PSXTech shows it in action across several hardware configurations. The catch is that performance is still nowhere near playable, frame rates are sitting at 1 to 2 frames per second even on high-end hardware like a Ryzen 9 9950X3D. A separate emulator called SharpEmu has also been making rapid progress, going from booting the game to reaching the character creation screen within the space of a week.
