Can an employee stop coming to work immediately after submitting a resignation? Not exactly. Under Nepal’s Labour Act, employees are required to serve the applicable notice period. If they leave without giving the required notice, the employer may deduct the equivalent notice-period remuneration as permitted by law. If the employee serves the notice period, they are entitled to their remuneration up to their last working day. Resignation doesn’t mean you can stop coming to work the next day.
