Something I wish I knew before becoming a DON is that I'm on call 24/7. No turning my ringer off. Um, the one time I did turn my ringer off, I was in Alaska, so like, even if it's something that happened, I wouldn't have been able to do anything anyway. Um, but even with nurses taking weekend call rotation and holiday call rotation, if something urgent happened and I don't know, one year we had the sprinklers like, explode, so all leadership has to respond. Um, so I didn't realize that it would be that intense that literally I cannot shut my phone off. And I think if there's times when I could just shut it off and know that okay for the next two days, I can literally I don't have to respond, I don't have to go anywhere, I don't have to do anything, it would make it a little more manageable, but that's not the case. So how does everybody else deal with it?
