Sonoma County is deciding — right now — whether to turn the Fairgrounds racetrack into a pro soccer stadium and entertainment district. Housing, retail, a 5,000+ seat stadium, all in Santa Rosa. Deadline on this decision is September 17th. But the fairgrounds already does a lot — the county fair, ag use, and it's an emergency evacuation site during fires. Does a stadium fit alongside that, or does something have to give? Exciting upgrade for the county, or overreach?
