I don’t care how harsh or mean I might sound I meant this. I’ve been a parent for almost 4 years and one thing I think we seriously need to normalise is not kissing other people’s children. Whether you’re family or a friend, my kids already know how loved they are by you. They don’t need a kiss on the lips, cheek or hands to feel that love. For the last 7 days, we’ve watched our poor baby boy Kohen become incredibly sick. Late-night hospital visits, doctors, Telehealth calls and sleepless nights just trying to keep him comfortable and breathing… every day I’ve prayed just to have my boy back. Yes, kids get sick. I understand that. But watching your baby suffer makes you question everything you could’ve done to prevent it and I take the blame... So from now on: If you’re sick, don’t visit my kids. If you feel even slightly unwell, don’t visit my kids. And please, don’t kiss my children. Talk to them. Play with them. Hug them. Tell them you love them. Your lips don’t need to touch my child for them to know they’re loved. ❤️ And I don’t care if this upsets people or starts a conversation. It might make me uncomfortable to enforce this, but after the week we’ve had, this is a boundary I’ll happily stand by. #awareness #protectourchildren #foryou #fyp
