So many people had something to say about one of these front garden DIY. Some said it looked rubbish, some said I should leave it to the professionals. That's their job. I think some stress is not worth as woman. £400 is worth your rest. And honestly, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'm not here to argue with anybody. I'm just here to show you Day 2. One thing I realized after reading the comments and looking at it again was that the joins in the artificial grass we are far too visible. Since I was trying to make use of leftover grass from our back garden project, it wasn't looking as neat as I wanted. So, juicy suggested getting a fresh roll of grass and off to B&Q I went. Well, two rolls later, we were back in business. Before anybody comes for me again, I'm still not aiming for perfection. I just want the front of my house to look neat, tidy and presentable. This time, I also discovered that cutting artificial grass with scissors is so much easier than using a knife. The cuts came out straighter, cleaner and it made the whole process less stressful. After measuring and trimming everything properly, I laid the grass down and started filling the edges with decorative stones, which I also picked up from B&Q. The plan was to secure the edges with U-shaped fixing pegs, but that quickly failed because there were so many stones underneath the ground that I couldn't drive them in properly. Not ideal, but it shouldn't affect the overall finish. I ended up using three bags of stones. But once I stepped back and looked at it, I realized I definitely need at least one more bag to fill the borders properly. So, that's where the two ended. It's not finished yet, but what do you think so far? Has it improved since the one? And if you've got any tips, drop them in the comments. I might actually use them for Day 3.
