Who’s going to point out that I’m pronouncing it wrong? Scalloped potatoes and ham 😆 Best served with a heaping scoop of @Anderson Erickson Dairy cottage cheese Scalloped Ham & Potatoes 4 Tbsp butter 1/2 yellow onion, diced 4 cloves garlic, minced 1/3 cup flour 1 1/4 cup heavy cream 1 1/4 cup milk Salt & pepper, to taste Thyme, parsley & oregano, to taste 1 to 1 1/2 cups diced ham 1 3/4 lbs potatoes, peeled & thinly sliced 1/2 cup shredded cheese I started with 4 tablespoons of butter in my skillet and sautéed half of a diced yellow onion until it was nice and translucent. Then I added 4 cloves of garlic. Is that probably a little too much garlic? Maybe. Sauté the garlic for about 30 seconds. Next, stir in the flour and cook for a few minutes. Nobody wants raw flour. Slowly add the heavy cream and milk, stirring well to make sure you don't have any lumps. Season with salt, pepper, thyme, parsley and oregano. Add your diced ham and let everything warm through. I didn't measure my ham, but I'd guess I used about 1 to 1 1/2 cups. Then add 1 3/4 pounds of potatoes that have been peeled and thinly sliced. I used my mandolin to get them nice and thin. A lot of scalloped ham and potato recipes have you layer the potatoes in a baking dish and pour the sauce over the top. I'm a little more rustic than that, so I just mixed the potatoes right into the sauce in the same skillet. One less dish to wash in this dishwasher free household. Cover the skillet and bake at 425°F for 30 minutes. Remove the lid, sprinkle with 1/2 cup of shredded cheese and broil for a few minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden. #comfortfood #cookwithme #potato #EasyRecipe #homecooking
