I’m never here to tell you what you should or shouldn’t do. I simply share my own experiences so you can make the decision that feels right for YOU. After 32 trips to Cancun, I personally feel comfortable leaving my resort, taking the local bus, exploring the Hotel Zone and getting out into the area. And yes — there are honestly times I feel safer in Cancun than I do in certain places back home in the U.S. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be aware of your surroundings or take normal travel precautions. It just means this has been my experience.
