Engineering laptops are not about looking good. They are about surviving four years of simulations, CAD software, and a hundred open tabs. Prioritise 16GB RAM and a keyboard you can type on for hours. A dedicated graphics card only matters if you are heading into mechanical or civil with heavy CAD work. ThinkPads are ugly and boring.
