I was in A&E after collapsing and I was still on Teams. I’ve had pneumonia, bronchitis, strep, fevers… and I’ve worked throughout the entire illness. Being funemployed has its downsides; lack of structure, uneven income, no pension contributions. But it also means I don’t have to log in tomorrow morning with the worst sore throat, fever and headache. I don’t have to pretend I’m okay, I don’t have to worry about turning my camera on in bed, and I also don’t have to worry about getting more sick because I couldn’t take the time off to rest. That alone is worth it.
