Being married to a Portuguese man has changed my life. Number one, respect the pastel de nata. Always respect the pastel de nata. Number two, never underestimate the power of a group of Portuguese men and women. My god, they will get the job done faster than you've ever seen before with two people working on it and that's it. They'll have done it in five minutes. Trezo, Trezo is everywhere. And you're better off to get wine from like your neighbor than like an actual store. Food? Yeah, they're all just chilling around a pot all making meat together. And fighting over the meat and who's cooking it. Smoke everywhere. It's just natural at that point. Grandmother shows up. Yes, stop. You respect her even though she is not even paying attention to you and she's just chilling there with her knee. She'll do you respect your elders. Best part ever. Music at any hour. These people party till 6 o'clock in the fucking morning. Sometimes 11 AM. They're out partying. I'll look out the window and see people coming home on like a Monday because they were at a festival all weekend. The Portuguese, the Spanish, all of them. They party hard. You think you can party? Oh my god. No. These people party until they're 80s, dude. My father-in-law, guess what? Comes home at 6 AM every single day because he's just chilling, running festivals, going like, hell yeah, live music, get the aquarium out, going through the streets and then just going through the streets and then just hear them chanting. And just going through the streets and then party. Guess what? You try and stop them. They're just gonna pull you in and make you sing with them, damn it. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Like, I swear. I never knew how much I love chewing on sugar cane until marrying my husband. And never, never in my life did I realize how important a day was until that's my god. I love him.
