Labor’s broken parole system has allowed violent criminals to be given parole due to a legal loophole - so we’re introducing new laws to close it. Restricted Prisoner laws currently only apply to child killers and murderers who kill more than one person. That’s why we’re introducing new laws to Parliament to expand them so they apply to all prisoners serving a life sentence. These changes mean the worst of the worst - murderers, rapists, and paedophiles who commit the most heinous crimes - could remain behind bars for longer. Our new legislation introduced into Parliament are nation-leading reforms to keep Queensland safer.
