People with ADHD may be significantly more likely to experience gut problems including constipation, IBS and diarrhea, according to a major new review. Published in the Journal of Attention Disorders, the University of Warwick-led study analyzed data from more than 1.9 million people across 23 studies and found ADHD was linked to an almost 50% increase in overall gastrointestinal symptoms. Researchers found particularly strong associations with constipation and IBS, while stressing that the findings show a link rather than proving ADHD causes digestive problems. The team says doctors may want to ask patients with ADHD about gastrointestinal symptoms, particularly when they are affecting quality of life. #adhd #ibs #science #study #health
