Daily Mail Japanese man has made over 750 dives searching for wife swept away by 2011 tsunami

For nearly 15 years, Yasuo Takamatsu has continued searching for his wife Yuko, who disappeared when the devastating 2011 tsunami swept through Onagawa, Japan. After searching on land for more than two years, Takamatsu began scuba diving in 2013 and has since made more than 750 dives in the waters where she was last seen. He once recovered Yuko's phone from the parking lot of the bank where she worked, but her body was never found. Her final message to him had asked: 'Are you okay? I want to go home.' Takamatsu says he will keep searching for Yuko for as long as he is physically able, describing each dive as a way of feeling close to the wife he has never stopped looking for. #japan #news #yasuotakamatsu
