Here's a tutorial on how I get super clean raccoon tails using the freehand method. This is definitely the more difficult and time consuming option, but it is by far the most common. Any time I do raccoon tails on clients I use the freehand method, mostly because it can be somewhat difficult to try and tape down hair thats connected to a human, and because removing the tape can be uncomfortable for clients with sensitive scalps. I made another video on how to do raccoon tails using the tape method so go check out that video too if you're looking for a method that requires less time and precision.
