Before everybody decides a polished 60 Minutes interview means anything by itself… let me introduce you to a little television history. 👀 Men who sat under studio lights. Looked directly into cameras. Denied involvement. Explained themselves. Appeared believable to plenty of people. And were later convicted or pleaded guilty. So when Patrick Clancy sits down on 60 Minutes this Sunday, I’m not interested in whether he looks sincere. I’m not interested in whether he cries. I’m not interested in whether the interview feels sympathetic. Because television can show you a person. It cannot prove what happened. What I care about is: What does he actually answer? What gets challenged? What gets avoided? And are the hard questions even asked? Patrick has not been charged with these crimes, and this comparison does not establish that he committed them. But history gives us one very useful lesson: “I didn’t do it” sounds exactly the same on television whether the person saying it is innocent or guilty.
