🚨 NEW AUSTRALIA MIGRATION CHANGES 🇦🇺 Here are some of the big changes international students and migrants should know 👇 👨‍👩‍👧 International Students & Family Most international students may no longer be able to bring family members as secondary applicants. Some exceptions apply, including certain Pacific/ASEAN nationals and PhD students. 🎓 Student “Visa Hopping” Changing courses just to extend your stay will face tighter rules. In some situations, you may need a new visa. 🎒 Backpackers – New Ballot Second- and third-year Working Holiday Maker visas will move to a ballot system. 🎟️ Year 2: 45,000 places 🎟️ Year 3: 5,000 places Regional work requirements will still apply. ✈️ Visitor Visas The government plans to add a No Further Stay condition to all visitor visas, making it harder to use a visitor visa as a pathway to another visa while in Australia. 🚔 Visa Overstayers More compliance action is planned, including 100 additional compliance officers and 250 additional detention beds. 👷‍♂️ Skilled Migration Priorities Migration priorities are set to focus more on key sectors such as: 🏥 Healthcare 🏗️ Construction 🎓 Education 🌾 Agriculture 🐟 Fisheries …and other critical industries. 📊 Migration Target 🇦🇺 245,000 net overseas migration this financial year ➡️ 225,000 targeted for 2027–28. 🤔 Which change surprised you the most? 👇 Tell us in the comments!
