Transcript

Every Catan night has that one friend who needs five minutes for a single road, and the other three, they're not really playing Catan tonight, they're watching him play Catan. But it's not him, it's the game. Most of the Catan night is waiting for your turn. So here's a new way to play Catan. It has no turns. Nobody waits for anybody. Someone rolls an eight, and that eight is for everyone. All four of them take their cards at the same time. Same second. This guy's building a road, she's buying a development card, and those two across the table are already trading wheat for ore. Nobody's turn isn't the turn because there isn't one. Whoever's got the dice rolls again, hands them the dice, and the whole table moves again. The board fills up in minutes. That's the whole thing. Everything else is the same board you already know. Same board, check. Same cards, check. First to 10, check. So, 10 minutes later, the game is over. Your friend finally found the spot for his road, eight minutes ago. Try it this weekend. Bring the slow one.
