ZIMSEC ADDITIONAL MATHEMATICS — A LEVEL | NOVEMBER 2018 PAPER 🔥📚 I revised the ZIMSEC November 2018 Additional Mathematics A Level Paper, and in this video I worked through the first 6 questions. Additional Mathematics is not an ordinary mathematics paper. It takes you into areas where you need a strong mathematical foundation, logical thinking and the ability to connect different ideas. The syllabus assumes that the learner has a talent in Mathematics. The first six questions alone cover a serious range of mathematics: Q1 — Hyperbolic equations Solving an equation involving cosh and sinh. Q2 — Differential equations Finding the general solution of a first-order differential equation. Q3 — Groups and Group Theory Showing that a set of functions forms a group under composition of functions. Q4 — Reduction Formulae & Integration Working with a reduction formula and then applying it to an integration problem. Q5 — Vectors Triple scalar product and finding the vector equation of a plane. Q6 — Inverse Hyperbolic Functions & Integration Evaluating integrals involving inverse hyperbolic functions and logarithms. 🔥 This is exactly why Additional Mathematics requires serious mathematical thinking. The syllabus assumes that students are ready to work with abstract ideas, unfamiliar structures and techniques that go beyond routine calculations.
