People always ask me why I don’t just quit my job and do TikTok Shop full-time… especially when they see how much money can be made from it. And the answer is actually pretty simple - I don’t want to. Social media has completely changed my life. It’s given me an income I never imagined I’d have, opportunities I’m incredibly grateful for and something that I’ve built completely for myself. But I also know how quickly this industry can change. One month can be incredible, the next can be completely different. An algorithm can change. A product can stop selling. A platform can change its rules. What works today isn’t guaranteed to work forever. My job gives me something social media can’t - stability. A guaranteed wage. A pension. Holidays. Security. A career I’ve spent years building. And most importantly, something that exists outside of my phone. Could I probably make more money putting every hour into TikTok? Maybe. But earning the absolute maximum amount of money possible isn’t my only goal. For me, the dream is having both. Having a career I enjoy AND building a business on the side. Knowing my bills aren’t dependent on whether a video performs well that week. Being able to enjoy the highs of social media without panicking during the lows. And I think sometimes social media makes us believe that success means quitting your 9–5 the second your side hustle starts making money. It doesn’t. Sometimes success is keeping the career you worked hard for while building something incredible alongside it. TikTok Shop could disappear tomorrow. My CV, my experience and the career I’ve built won’t. So no, I’m not waiting for the day I can finally quit my job. I actually quite like the life I’ve built with both. 🤍 #socialmediagrowth
