A fun Sunday activity in North County 🍞 San Diego I took a sourdough workshop at Sunshine Farm in Vista and went by myself. It was a great experience, although I definitely think this would be more fun with a friend! We learned the basics of sourdough and I left with a mini loaf to bake at home, my own starter, and instructions for everything we learned. Sunshine Farm is also open Saturdays with baked goods, and they offer farm school for kids where they learn about plants, animals, and even how to make butter. They also occasionally offer more advanced sourdough classes, including how to laminate and make more advanced breads, which I’d definitely be interested in trying. Once a month, Jen hosts a sourdough workshop. And during the workshop, you learn all about how to make sourdough. You get hands-on experience and you even get to try several flavors of her sourdough breads. I also enjoyed her jalapeno cheddar sourdough, but honestly, all of them are really good. This workshop was reasonably priced and you get to leave with a cooked loaf as well as dough to cook at home and hands-on experience.
