"I would be so embarrassed"

I’ll be the first to say learning a new language is extremely embarrassing. I’ve taken a one hour Albanian lesson every week for about 3 months now, which has been more or less a total of 12 hours of learning. I started recording thinking this would just be a short hello and ended up wanting to hide after!! When this sweet shop owner asked if I speak Albanian/am Albanian I said “burri im eshte shqiptare” instead of “shqiptar” and then could tell my anxiety was about to take over. A mistake right away. 😣 And while I was trying to think how can I politely step away because I can’t speak much and Markos was somewhere else; he started asking what I do for work but he was talking so fast that I thought he was asking me if I work in Albania… I had no idea how to answer. “Oh, (right) now?!— No I’m from America” when a correct answer would’ve been my profession — I was ready to run. 🤦🏽‍♀️ but after I cut off my camera this family ended up being a shop who probably wouldve only said hello if I had said hi in English to asking if they could show me videos of their family and tell me about them.
