Replying to @Nurse Andrea Law 🚨 Let’s talk about the EMS double standard. If your concern is whether someone can safely perform the physical demands of the job, THAT is a legitimate conversation. But publicly body shaming them because they asked for assistance with a patient transfer? That’s not patient advocacy. That’s disrespect. And if we’re going to start talking about “barriers to entry,” we also need to talk about pay, working conditions, staffing, physical demands, and what we’re actually asking people to do for the wages we offer. EMS and nursing are on the same team. 🫶🏻 We can hold people accountable for unsafe performance without humiliating them for their bodies. And yes… if you’re going to make someone else’s weight the subject of public discussion, maybe be prepared for people to look at the same standard from every direction and in every industry. This isn’t about whether someone is overweight. It’s about whether they can safely do the job—and how we choose to address concerns when they can’t. #paramedicsoftiktok #emslife #emstok #emtlife #ambulancedriver @Feral medic911 has a great post about a similar topic!
