Why it worked

The video uses a relatable, high-energy 'street interview' format that naturally integrates a product comparison, making the promotional element feel like a value-add rather than an interruption.

Summary

A creator from Evetech interviews cosplayers at a convention to guess the cost of their costumes. The video concludes by comparing the high costs of the cosplays to the price of a pre-built gaming PC sold by Evetech.

Structure

1Interviewer asks cosplayers to guess costume costs
2Cosplayers reveal prices ranging from R2,000 to R20,000
3Interviewer compares cosplay costs to a pre-built PC
4Final interview reveals a cheaper costume purchase

Product placement

(a) Evetech acts: the creator uses the Evetech brand to host the segment, and the video concludes by demonstrating a pre-built PC available on the Evetech website as a price comparison for the cosplays. Removing this would remove the promotional context and the specific product offer. (b) Temu appears: mentioned by a cosplayer as where they bought their costume. Removing this would not change the video's promotional focus on Evetech.
