According to public tax filings submitted to the IRS, Aung Kyaw Moe reported receiving nearly $14 million—specifically $13,872,282 in 2023. Reports state that this money was raised under the promise of providing food, education, and peace building for the Rohingya people. However, on the ground, our reality is vastly different. We, the Rohingya people, have seen no meaningful support, no real aid, and no impact from these massive sums. If millions of dollars are being collected using our name, our suffering, and our cause, we must ask the critical questions: Where is this money actually going? Why are millions of dollars being raised in our name without reaching our people? Who is truly benefiting from the plight of the Rohingya? For too long, opportunistic individuals have used the tragedy of the Rohingya people for financial gain and self-promotion while our community continues to suffer without basic resources. We cannot stay silent while our identity and struggles are exploited. We must stand up against those who profit off our persecution.
