Trying traditional ear cleaning in Chengdu, China 🇨🇳 You’ll find ear cleaning stalls all around People’s Park in Chengdu, usually alongside the teahouses where locals come to drink tea, chat and relax. The practice is often called cǎi ěr (采耳) and has a long history in Sichuan. The ear cleaners use a variety of tiny tools including metal picks, brushes and the iconic tuning fork like tools that create vibrations inside your ear. It was definitely one of the more unusual things I tried in China 😂 but such a fun way to experience a little piece of Chengdu’s local culture.
