Hacoo - Sharing, Discovering and Inspiring

Why it worked

The video uses a relatable, high-energy comedic format to document a universal life experience, seamlessly integrating the app as a natural part of the 'spending' stage rather than as a forced advertisement.

Summary

A creator uses a series of comedic skits to illustrate the stages of receiving and spending a first paycheck. During the 'buying' stage, he demonstrates using the Hacoo app to browse and select items.

Structure

1Anticipating the first paycheck
2Receiving the money and feeling rich
3Browsing and shopping on the Hacoo app
4Realizing the money is gone

Product placement

Hacoo (a shopping app). It ACTS: the creator opens the app on his phone, browses products (tracksuit, trainers), and the app displays a 'free delivery' offer. Removing it would change the video because the app's interface and the specific shopping offer are central to the 'Buying everything you see' stage.

Oh, it's one minute past 12. Where is my money? The quick enough to tell me when I'm two minutes late, though, aren't they? Oh, where is it? I'm not even going to get paid at this rate. I'm out. 800 quid. Mum! Mum! We've made it. We've made it. Oh, you can start paying bills now, can't you? Sorry? Who's that? Oh, I'm actually rich as fuck now I've been paid. I can look at investments, properties. Mum! Oh, what now? How do you transfer money out your savings? Oh, nice hoodie that. Let's add it. New tracksuit, yeah. Ooh, them trainers will go with tracksuit. Free delivery if you spend 20 quid. That's basically just saving money. Yeah, babe, get whatever you want. It's on me. Should we go for a meal? Absolutely. That's the place. I was thinking maybe somewhere a little bit cheaper. Fucking hell, do you want me to blow all my money? All right, sorry. Right, let's check how much I've actually spent then. I don't think I've spent that much. 4.63. Someone must have been using my card. Let me check these. Oh, they're all me. Mother, you know because you love me so much. Oh, what now, Will? Can I borrow a fiver? Hold the hell, I thought you said we made it. Yeah, we have made it. You're just the funds to the next step.
