What do you smell like? Not your deodorant, not your perfume… just you? Have you ever asked a partner or a good friend? Or even had someone comment on it? Or noticed yourself about someone? This is the scent that is unique to you. And it’s made mostly by the ecosystem of skin microbes which are constantly producing those scent molecules. The problem is, the way we treat the scent our skin produces is focused on covering up or removing that smell by killing those microbes or washing away the smell. Yes there are smelly compounds produced, but that’s not the full story. This is research we did over five years to help us understand how we can create a way to have the best version of our baseline scent shine through. This work turned into Base Scent by @futuresocietyofficial I care deeply about this topic and want everyone to have a relationship with their bodies that encourages wonder and not shame.
