true scary legend from Philippine The **Manananggal** is a legendary creature from Philippine folklore, known for its terrifying and gruesome characteristics. Often depicted as a woman by day, she transforms into a horrific, vampiric monster at night. The transformation involves her torso separating from her lower body, allowing her to fly using bat-like wings. While in this form, the Manananggal hunts for victims, typically pregnant women, to feed on their blood or, more disturbingly, to consume their unborn child. The Manananggal is said to use her long, proboscis-like tongue to suck blood or feed on flesh. It is believed that she can only be defeated by using salt, garlic, or ash, which prevents her from reattaching her lower body to her upper torso. Some versions of the legend also claim that if the Manananggal is caught in this split form, she cannot return to her human shape until dawn. The creature's haunting nature is often linked to fears of pregnancy, childbirth, and vulnerability, making it one of the most terrifying beings in Filipino folklore.#truescarystory#scary #mystery #creepy #horror
