This clip is not about how what happened "isn't that bad" i am not diminishing or dismissing what the Jane Doe went through. Quite the opposite. What happened to this woman was a crime. She was taken advantage of and was not in a state of mind to be able to make informed decisions about adult encounters with random partners. It does not help this victim get justice when people make up lies about the case to make it sound more sensational, or to virtue signal about how much they care about the case. If any of the people spreading these lies really cared about the victim, or cared about the truth, they would spend the 5 minutes it takes to find the publicly available documents that detail exactly what happened. When you attach misinformation and exaggerations to a case like this, you hand defense attorneys a golden ticket to win the case. All they have to disprove is that a continuous attack of 7 hours didn't happen and all of a sudden the entire thing looks shaky and the victim looks like a liar. Worse than that, it prevents future victims from wanting to come forward, for fear that their story will be turned into something it isn't so that content creators can get views and likes. As a creator in the true crime space it makes me sick to see people trying to monetize someone else's suffering and attaching extra lies and BS to try and sell a more tantalizing narrative.
