Why it worked

The video leverages a relatable 'expectation vs. reality' failure, which is a high-engagement trope on social media, combined with the creator's genuine emotional reaction.

Summary

The creator expresses disappointment with a custom birthday cake she ordered from Temu, comparing the final product to her original inspiration photo. She highlights several missing design elements and jokingly asks for AI to fix the cake's appearance.

Structure

1Creator expresses shock and disappointment at a cake
2Shows the original inspiration photo
3Shows the actual cake received
4Points out specific missing design details
5Jokingly asks for AI to fix the cake

Product placement

Temu: (a) it ACTS — the creator shows a cake she ordered from the platform, which failed to meet her expectations based on the reference photo. Removing the name would change the context of the complaint about the specific service provider.

I actually PAID money for this 😭😭 Oh my god, I'm gonna cry. My cake is so ugly. And this was the inspiration, okay? What the hell is this? Oh my god, no. There's so many things. I'm actually gonna cry. Like, where the cherries? Why, where's the June? Can someone just use AI and make it look nicer? Because I, I can't.
