They called me strong when I needed a hug. Said you'll be fine when I'd had enough. So I wipe my own tears and said yeah that's right. And cry myself to sleep alone that night. I learned if you smile they leave you alone. If you say you're good they don't ask for more. So I made it look easy I covered it up. Nobody knew I was hurting that much. I didn't need answers. I didn't need much. I didn't need fixing. I just needed love. I didn't wanna be strong I just needed a hug. I didn't need you to fix me or clean this all up. I needed somebody to tell me it's fine to not have it together all of the time. I needed somebody to see through my smile to tell me it's okay to break for a while.
