Hook
About 10 years ago, my dad retired my mom. A big dream of theirs and something my dad had always wanted to do. And 2026 was going to be the year that my dad finally retired at 71 years old and they got to travel and do all the things that they talked about. When he got to that point, he was going to retire and that was it. They made all these plans. They were excited. They were maybe going to sell the childhood home that I grew up in because they didn't need all that house anymore. The kids were gone. Well, January 19th of 2025, my dad died. And eight months prior to that, my dad was healthy. He had no idea that his liver was slowly failing due to a massive blood clot in a critical vein in his body. I had no idea that I'd move home and blow my entire life up and become the full-time caretaker of my father and have to endure the hardest and worst thing I've ever been through. The greatest thing that ever happened to me, but the worst thing I've ever been through. And it's the greatest thing that ever happened to me because I realized one simple thing. All we do is say when. When I have the money, when I have the time, when next year comes, when this summer's over. When is a fucking illusion. Because my dad said when too, and he never got it. And I hope that you see this video on your doom scroll or whatever you're doing, and you decide to just go. You decide to live now. Because the luxury of thinking and analyzing and planning is just that, a luxury. Next year doesn't exist yet. All you have is this moment. So do something with it. It isn't easy, but it is simple. Don't overcomplicate it.
