Could the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs be adding more offensive firepower? Patrick Mahomes & Co. came away with a 30-27 road win over the rival Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday thanks largely to 177 rushing yards and two touchdowns from free-agent acquisition Kenneth Walker III. But the victory proved costly as receivers Tyquan Thornton and Rashee Rice both went down with concerning injuries. Thornton, who had a pair of touchdown catches against the Raiders, may be lost for the season due to a broken ankle, while Rice is out indefinitely with a hamstring strain for 4-0 Kansas City. Enter former Chiefs receiver and Mahomes' once-favorite target Tyreek Hill, who seemingly expressed interest in a reunion with a Sunday post on X: 'hm.' Now, Kansas City is reportedly considering a mid-season acquisition of the former All-Pro, who has languished on the free-agent market since his own gruesome knee injury as a member of the Miami Dolphins last season. As reported by The Athletic's Michael Silver, the Chiefs have already reached out to Hill's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, to inquire about Hill's availability this season. Meanwhile, ESPN reported the Chiefs reached out to Rosenhaus prior to Sunday's injuries. The Daily Mail has sought comment from Rosenhaus and Chiefs spokespeople. As Silver wrote, Hill remains well liked within the organization and with former teammates such as Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Chris Jones, who are all in favor of a reunion. Meanwhile, the front office considers Hill's recovery from knee surgery to be the only major obstacle in signing him, according to Silver. Although Hill had a turbulent tenure in Kansas City, the speedster known as 'Cheetah' did help the Chiefs win Super Bowl LIV in February of 2020. He was later traded to the Miami Dolphins, where he signed a four-year, $120 million extension in 2022. Hill appeared in four games in 2025 before suffering his season-ending knee injury, which brought his tenure in Miami to an unceremonious end. He was ultimately released in February. As for Hill's recovery, he has been posting videos of himself doing beach workouts. Whether or not Hill can prove his recovery by running routes in the sand remains to be seen. A six-time All-Pro who eclipsed the 1,000-receiving yard plateau six times over his 10-year career, Hill has faced a number of scandals dating back to his college career at Oklahoma State, where he was accused of domestic violence in 2014. He was later dismissed from the football team before pleading guilty to domestic assault and battery by strangulation. #tyreekhill #cheetah #kansascitychiefs #chiefs #nfl
