Congressman Jonathan Jackson needs to answer for his immigration and housing priorities. My position is clear: South Side residents should be first in line for South Side housing opportunities. That means prioritizing longtime residents when public dollars are used for affordable apartments, housing vouchers, down-payment assistance, vacant-home rehabilitation, property-tax relief and programs that help families stay in their homes. Before government spends taxpayer dollars expanding housing assistance for newly arrived non-citizens, we should address the South Siders already waiting for affordable housing and struggling to remain in the neighborhoods they built. I will fight to: • Rehabilitate vacant and abandoned homes for South Side families • Expand pathways to homeownership for local residents • Protect seniors and longtime homeowners from displacement • Demand transparency about who receives taxpayer-funded housing assistance • Keep affordable housing resources focused on residents with the greatest documented need South Side homes. South Side families. South Side investment. Vote November 3.
