NetEase has just revealed that Thanos is coming to Marvel Rivals and he is arriving with an entirely new game mode built around him. The new 50-player mode drops players into the ruined Avengers Compound, where the entire lobby has to work together to fight through Thanos' Army before facing the Mad Titan himself. It is the biggest departure from the game's standard 6v6 format since launch and the first time Marvel Rivals has introduced a large-scale PvE mode. The Avengers Compound setting is a direct callback to Avengers: Endgame, and bringing Thanos in as a boss rather than a playable hero is a smart way to introduce one of Marvel's most iconic villains without having to balance him into competitive play.
