Boots took his first trip to the emergency vet this afternoon. All he cares about is getting pets from the staff, even though his face literally looks like this. They're thinking he was either stung by a bee or bit by a spider. Doctor came in to check his heart rate, his temperature, his breathing, and thankfully he said that everything sounded perfect. We had already given him a Benadryl at home, so they gave him a steroid shot to help. His face was still looking pretty rough and the swelling really hadn't come down, so they asked us to hang out for a while and Boots took this opportunity to take a nap. After getting the all clear to head home, he headed to the front desk to pay his bill, but unfortunately forgot his wallet, so we had to pay his bill. He headed out to the car but was looking awfully sad. I think he was feeling a little guilty that mom and dad had to spend money at the emergency vet today.
