Thanks for letting me know not to forget depreciation 😮‍💨 We bought both cars brand new in 2023. ⚡ Tesla Model Y: $50,000 ⛽ Honda CR-V Hybrid: $44,000 Assuming both have 35,000 miles: 📉 Tesla lost approximately $19,100 (38%) 📉 Honda lost approximately $13,300 (30%) That’s nearly $6,000 MORE in depreciation on the Tesla! And while the Tesla saved us money on charging and maintenance, those savings weren’t enough to offset the depreciation difference. The lesson? The cheapest car to drive isn’t always the cheapest car to OWN.
