So this happened once again. Let's talk about it. I was at the LGBT club. Not the gay club, not the lesbian bar, I was at the LGBT club, SunTrapp in Salt Lake City. If you've been there, you know it's a very diverse queer scene. All different types of LGBT people are at this place. I was with my girlfriend, we're dancing together, we're being a little PDA, but nothing more than other couples on the dance floor. And of course, there was some guy dancing right next to us, yelling loud enough just so that we can hear it right next to him saying, you know, this is a gay bar for gay people. He's saying it right after we kissed and in our direction. Mind you, he's right here. To me, that seems like he was saying it to us. Right after that, my girlfriend started crying because she felt like she wasn't welcome. And honestly, it is hard to feel welcome when you know that people around you view you as a cishet couple thinking that you're encroaching on their space, when in reality, we're just being part of the space. And at this point, I don't really know what else to do because obviously, queer people should feel like they have a safe space. But at the same time, there are people who are in the LGBT community, but they might not look like the rest of the LGBT community. And that includes bisexual women and their trans boyfriends. So I just don't really know what the solution is for this, but I think in your head, if you see a couple at the LGBT bar, maybe don't just assume that they shouldn't be there.
