My first turkey!!!!! Ingredients: * 1 whole turkey (i used a 20lb turkey) * 1 white onion, quartered * 1 apple, quartered * 1 lemon, quartered * Fresh rosemary, thyme and sage * 1 cup unsalted butter, softened * 6–8 cloves garlic, minced * 1 tsp salt * ½ tsp black pepper Instructions: 1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). and pat it dry with paper towels. 2. Make your herb butter by combining the softened butter, garlic, salt, pepper, chopped rosemary and thyme, and sage. 3. Season the inside of the turkey with salt and pepper, then fill it with the quartered onion, apple, lemon and remaining fresh herbs. 4. Gently loosen the skin over the turkey breasts and spread a generous amount of herb butter underneath. 5. Place the turkey breast-side up on a roasting rack and roast at 325°F. 6. Once the skin is beautifully golden and crispy, loosely cover the turkey with aluminum foil to prevent it from getting too dark. 7. Continue roasting until the thickest part of the breast and the innermost thigh and wing reach 165°F (74°C). (My 20 lb turkey took just over 5 hours.) 8. Let the turkey rest for 20–30 minutes before carving so all those juices have time to settle. #TurkeyRecipe #RoastTurkey #HolidayCooking #HolidayRecipes
