As a mom, hearing grown male adults in a podcast (Machong Chismisan) call Joshua Aquino “walang kwenta” and laugh about it makes my heart break for parents and families raising children with special needs who have to hear people speak about a child this way. Having a disability doesn’t make Josh any less deserving of love, dignity, and respect. Imagine strangers humiliating YOUR child for content, tapos tawanan pa? Freedom of speech doesn’t mean freedom from accountability. We need to stop normalizing this kind of behavior and demand better from the people and platforms that profit from it.
