To the substitute teacher who put me on GAME and told me to get on the sub lists at charter schools and private schools outside my regular school district... THANK YOU, BABY! THANK YOU, BABY! THANK YOU, BABY! 😂🙌🏾💙 That advice made a BIG difference for me! Instead of limiting myself to one school district, I expanded my options. I'm on multiple substitute teaching lists, and I've been able to work EVERY SCHOOL DAY! I'm not constantly stressing about where I'm going to work next because I've given myself more opportunities to find assignments. NEW SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS, LISTEN! 👀 Don't automatically limit yourself to your regular public school district. Look into charter schools, private schools, other school districts, and legitimate substitute teaching agencies in your area. Requirements, pay, and availability will vary, but the more options you explore, the more opportunities you may have to work. And no, I'm NOT talking about becoming a building substitute! 😂 I'm a DAY-TO-DAY substitute, and I LOVE the flexibility and autonomy that come with it. I like being able to choose assignments, experience different schools, and have flexibility while I'm working on my bachelor's degree and raising my daughter. This setup works for ME because I value flexibility, and I've found a way to make substitute teaching work with my life as a college student and mom. I'm not saying everybody has to do it this way, but I AM saying don't limit yourself before you explore your options! Sometimes the best advice comes from another person who's already figured out a way to make things work. So to the sub who shared that tip with me, THANK YOU! You helped me see that I didn't have to depend on just ONE district for work. 💙🙌🏾 NEW SUBS, EXPAND YOUR OPTIONS! Get on those lists and give yourself more opportunities to work! 👏🏾 #SubstituteTeacher #NewSubstituteTeacher #TeacherTok #SubstituteTeacherTips #EducationJobs
