18 years of rescue.. Let me tell you one thing, this is a completely different game than dog training. So for the 1 online course deep self proclaimed dog behaviour specialists to say “you should wait for the dog to approach you first” Baby girl or boy, this simply is out of your competence. Some dogs will not approach you first, not in a million years. I want everyone to picture a dog shelter like a burning house, the more time the dogs spend there, the more burnt they get and if you want to see the dog get burned to d€a+h, yeah, you can wait for him to approach you first. So from now on I want everyone to understand that what is life saving is not always perfect. And for the reference this dog in the video has never had a collar, has never been on a leash before, hasn’t let anyone touch him for 2 months or maybe even years prior to coming to the shelter. How else are you going to show a feral pup that a touch does not hurt ? If you feel like you can do better, please go and save a dog’s life, it is much more rewarding than discussing online about “perfect” scenarios that simply do not exist. By the way the quote in the video I borrowed from @Moderndogco #dogshelter #dogrescue #rescuedog
